HMD Global has announced the 2nd generation of Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone with upgraded features. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Surprisingly, the smartphone is getting the Android Oreo update on the first boot.

The updated version of Nokia 6 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, whereas the original had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. In addition, it has USB-C (instead of Micro USB), and more RAM at 4GB (up from 3GB). The handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat Out of the box. In the storage segment, it has two variants of 32GB/64GB, which is expandable via microSD up to 128GB. Also, Nokia 6 is powered by 3000 mAh battery. Nokia says the USB-C charger delivers up to 50 percent power in 30 minutes.
Coming to the camera segment, Nokia 6 (2018) sports 16MP camera at the back with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie shooter which comes with f/2.0 aperture. Although the overall design remains mostly similar, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back of the phone from beneath the front screen.
The new Nokia 6 is currently available for pre-order for 1499 Yuan (about $230) for the 32GB variant. But there’s no indication about its release in other markets.
