He gave the Old Monk the top of fame as an exclusive brand. The legend Kapil Mohan died on Saturday. According to the family, he died of cardiac arrest in Gaziabad home. He was 88 years old at thet time.
In 1954, ‘Old Monk’ first came in the market. Within the 1960s, the brand became the world’s largest selling alcohol. After that there was a continuation of the trend of selling for a long time.
Even the biggest foreign liquor brand in India was also Old Monk at a time. Mohan Meakin Limited, the manufacturer of the drink. Since 1973, he was the chairman of the company.
Mohan was also unwell over the last few years of his life, and had handed over day to day functioning of the various companies to his nephews, Hemant and Vinay Mohan. He died due to cardiac arrest on January 06, 2018. He is survived by his wife Pushpa Mohan, his Son In Law, Rakesh Bakshi and his Grandchildren from his Daughter, Shweathambri Bakshi, Riteesh Mohan Bakshi and Raghav Mohan Bakshi.
