After reports that Xiaomi would not launch a successor to last year’s Redmi Note 4. Reports are Xiaomi could launch Redmi Note 5 in the second quarter of 2018. The smartphone may run on new Snapdragon 632 processor. As per a report in MyDrivers, the Redmi Note 5 is being internally tested and the company will launch the phone in Q2 2018. Also, the price of the phone could be around CNY 1,599 (Rs 15,700 approx).
The delay in release is apparently because Xiaomi is waiting for Qualcomm to launch the octa-core Snapdragon 632 SoC. Which is a slightly underclocked variant of the last year’s Snapdragon 636 SoC.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 might run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone will have a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. According to the MyDrivers report, the smartphone will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor.
